This June and July 2008, the Andean Outreach Program will be holding the first annual Peru Immersion program that will allow almost 30 university students to travel to Huancayo, Peru to analyze social problems. This program will be run by AOP Immersion Director, Jonee Cocogliato.
We will be publishing cost, schedule, and application information very soon on this website.
The Construction of a Community Center in Chupaca Peru: Peru Luz Esperanza
Peru Luz Esperanza (PLE), has purchased land in Chupaca Peru and wishes constrcut a community center. The faclity will include a four story building for class rooms, meeting rooms, a kitchen, job training rooms, and volunteer services. PLE has organized the objectives the community center and the Andean Outreach Program has enlisted a group of Architects in the United States to design and fundraise for the project. We hope to post more information soon.
Children's Library in Santa Cruz Bolivia
Luz Del Mundo is a small volunteer organization that is located in Santa Cruz Bolivia. We have teamed up with them to build a childrens library for their volunteer program. We plan to fund the construction of a two room library that has rooms for stacks, tables and computers. The project will be constructed from recylced plastic bottles. We are very excited to be apart this project.
