• Our
three-story volunteeer house is located 10 blocks from the city center. Internet
cafes, call centers, grocery stores, restaurants, and the post office are
within walking distance. Our home consists of a spacious living room, dining
room, kitchen with full amenities, two full bathrooms with hot water, and
enclosed courtyard. To see pictures of the house click here.
• The
bedrooms are located on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the house. Each bedroom
will include an area for clothing and storing personal items. Sheets, alpaca
blanket, and comforter will be provided. Depending on the number of volunteers
in the household, you may be sharing a same-sex bedroom with 1-2 others. Any
special requests will be accommodated to the best of our abilities and private
arrangements may be available for an additional charge.
• Volunteers
will have access to two full bathrooms with hot showers. Toilet paper and
hand soap will be provided.

• There
will be three meals provided each day. Breakfast can be taken at your convenience.
There will be a number of items available throughout the week including yogurt,
fruit, eggs, bread, meats, cheeses, oatmeal, coffee, tea, and juices. Lunch
and dinner will be at a specified time so we can eat together and share our
experiences. A Peruvian cook will provide us with a wide array of typical
Peruvian dishes. Vegetarian meals are available upon request.
• There
is a wireless internet connection available throughout the house for anyone
who brings their own laptop. There is also a phone located in the living room
so family members can contact you and phone cards may be purchased to call
home at a cheaper rate.
• During
the Yanapa Volunteer Project you will share the house with a Peruvian family.
Senora Rosa and her family will be happy to answer any questions and share
their culture with you.
