The Andean Outreach Program introduces a new volunteer program that will take place in the Central highlands of Peru for the winter and spring of 2009.
“Yanapa” is the Peruvian Quechua word for “support”. The primary goal of the Yanapa Volunteer Project is to provide service and support the Andean community of Huancayo Peru.
This program not only offers volunteers a unique opportunity to experience an Andean community, but also to contribute to an organized project that is making an important difference in the lives of impoverished Peruvians.
The Andean Outreach Program is the only International Non Profit that operates a grassroots volunteer program in Huancayo Peru and we rely on our volunteers to make positive social change.

This volunteer program will not only provide a unique educational experience, but also will provide an important opportunity to aid in the efforts to effect social change in low-income communities. Our main goal is to promote social and cultural understanding for Andean Communities as well as to conceive ways to help improve life there.
The
program also includes a number of exciting excursions to local sites where
volunteers can explore the mountains, engage in cultural activities, and participate
in outdoor sports. This program contains a balanced volunteer and adventure
experience
