Jonee Cocogliato: AOP Immersion Director
Jonee is the AOP Cultural Immersion Director and will be in Huancayo to support all volunteer efforts for the duration of the project. She will be organizing group activities, project meetings, and excursions. She will meet the volunteers at the airport in Lima and safely accompany everyone to Huancayo.
Jonee has a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with an Emphasis in Social Services from Dominican University as well as extensive experience traveling and volunteering in Europe, India, and Peru. She has volunteered with a number of charity organizations and has been to Huancayo several times to work with children and teach English.
Jonee
enjoys working with the under-privileged, disabled, and disadvantaged.
She is constantly looking for new ways to combine her love of traveling
and experiencing new cultures, with her passion for helping the less fortunate.
Jonee plans to share her passion, ambition, and determination with others
who have similar goals, to work together to make a difference in the Peruvian
Andes.
Terry McCormick : AOP Executive Director
Terry
founded the Andean Outreach program in 2005 while volunteering for one
year in Huancayo, Peru. With a background in Architectural Design and
Construction, he was able to construct a number of projects in developing
Andean communities. Terry moved to San Francisco in 2006 and launched
the Andean Outreach Program with the help of volunteers. He runs the day-to-day
operations of the organization, manages the fundraising, and sets the
overall direction for the group.
Alison Varney : AOP Volunteer Coordinator
Alison co-founded the Andean Outreach program in 2005 while volunteering for one year in Huancayo, Peru. While in South America, Alison’s focus was on coordinating the day-to-day activities of volunteers along with teaching English to orphans. Alison helps to manage volunteer operations and assists with program operations and fundraising.
Shona Kay : AOP Program Director UK
Shona met Terry and Alison in Huancayo, Peru while she was volunteering there in the Summer of 2006. With a background as an elementary school teacher, Shona was interested in working with the Andean Outreach Program from the very start. In addition to managing the group’s PR, she runs the UK Chapter of the AOP by setting up fundraisers and promoting advocacy of our work.
